Khaberni - TikTok announced on Tuesday the appointment of Ziad Ojakli, the former head of government affairs at Boeing, as the head of public policy for the short video application in the Americas.

This step comes as TikTok is completing a deal to separate its assets in the United States from its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, according to "Reuters".

This move coincides with ByteDance working on selling about 80% of TikTok's assets in the United States to a consortium of American and global investors.

ByteDance is seeking this divestment to meet the national security requirements set forth in a law passed in 2024 in the United States.

The American President Donald Trump had signed an executive order in September granting ByteDance a deadline until the end of January to complete the sale of TikTok's assets in the United States.
