Khaberni - Media reports have revealed that the home of striker Jamie Vardy in northern Italy was subjected to a burglary executed by a group of thieves who took advantage of his absence from the house while he was participating with his team Cremonese in a match.
The British newspaper The Sun reported that the incident occurred in his luxurious villa overlooking Lake Garda, where the criminals managed to enter through a window left open, while the babysitter was alone in the house at the moment of the break-in.
According to preliminary investigations, the thieves stole valuable items including luxury watches, jewelry, and cash amounts, totaling about eighty thousand British pounds.
Among the stolen items was a rare and highly valuable watch, in addition to jewelry belonging to the family, which reinforces the belief that the gang had prior knowledge of the nature of the possessions inside the home.
The information indicates that the thieves had been observing the villa for days before executing the operation, taking advantage of the player's engagement with the match, and the absence of his wife Rebekah and the children from the home.
The incident comes just a few months after Vardy moved to Italy and purchased the villa which was to be his new residence after leaving Leicester City.
The newspaper noted that local authorities reviewed the surveillance camera footage, which showed three individuals entering the home and leaving within minutes carrying the stolen items, while police continue their search and tracking operations, particularly in unofficial markets where the stolen luxury watches and jewelry might be offered for sale.
