Khaberni - The Pakistani Universities and Institutes Alumni Club hosted a tribute event on the evening of Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in the capital Amman on the occasion of the conclusion of the duties of Ambassador Mohammad Ajmal Iqbal, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and his departure back to his country after years of diplomatic work in Jordan.
The event was attended by a number of Pakistani university alumni and members of the club's administrative body, as well as a gathering of guests and friends of the club.
Dr. Zaid Ahmad Al-Muheisen delivered a speech in which he affirmed the strength of the Jordanian-Pakistani relations, praising the efforts made by Ambassador Iqbal to enhance bilateral cooperation in the economic, diplomatic, cultural, and educational domains, alongside his support for the club's initiatives that aim to establish popular diplomacy and deepen the connection between the two brotherly peoples.
For his part, Ambassador Mohammad Ajmal Iqbal expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Alumni Club for their invitation and organization of this meeting, valuing the important role the club plays in enhancing cultural, educational, and social ties between Jordan and Pakistan. He also affirmed his pride in the deep brotherly relations between the two countries, based on mutual understanding and coordination toward various regional and international issues, wishing the club continued success in fulfilling its mission.
It is worth mentioning that the Pakistani Universities and Institutes Alumni Club was established in 1980 with the aim of serving Jordanian students wishing to complete their university studies in Pakistan, by providing them with necessary information about education there and the universities and living and social conditions. Since its establishment, the club continues to perform its cultural and social mission efficiently and effectively.
At the end of the event, the club members presented the Ambassador with the club's shield, an honorary membership certificate, and the club's medal in recognition of his efforts in serving the issues of both countries in various fields, wishing him a successful journey back to his homeland—Pakistan.
