Khaberni - The city of Taybeh in eastern Daraa province witnessed a horrific crime after a young man murdered the young teacher Samah Za’bi "27 years old" following her repeated refusal to marry him, in an incident that shook the Syrian street and caused widespread outrage.
According to preliminary information reported by local media, the killer had proposed several times to marry the victim, but Samah and her family repeatedly rejected him due to his bad reputation and involvement in drug abuse, which is believed to have been the main motive behind committing the crime after her persistent refusal.
The Ministry of Interior in Daraa managed to accurately identify the murderer and his location, leading to a quality operation that resulted in his capture and the seizure of the weapon used in the crime within less than twenty-four hours of his action, and he was immediately transferred to the relevant judicial authorities to complete the legal investigations.
The family of the young woman issued a statement expressing their shock and demanding a transparent investigation and the maximal punishment for the murderer, affirming the family's adherence to the law and their rejection of any acts of revenge or aggression towards the relatives of the perpetrator. The Criminal Investigation Department in Daraa arrested the murderer of the teacher Samah Za’bi in less than 24 hours.
The crime sparked a wave of anger on social media platforms, where many considered targeting a young teacher because of her refusal to marry as a serious threat to social security, and called for stricter penalties for committing this type of crime.
