In the University of Jordan's library, Her Majesty participated in the Royal Health Awareness Society's celebration of its twentieth year under the slogan "Twenty Years of Giving to the Community" and reviewed the most notable milestones in the society's development since its launch in 2005, up to its present role in international and global steering committees in the field of public health.
With the attendance of the University President, Nidhal Obaidat, the Chairman of the Board of the Royal Health Awareness Society, Rami Farraj, the Director of the Society, Amal Areifj, and the Library Director, Mujahed Dhneibat, Her Majesty viewed a mural honoring the primary partners and supporters who contributed to the success of the society.
The event featured an open day aimed at showcasing the society’s journey and achievements over the past two decades, and highlighting its leading role in enhancing health awareness and empowering individuals towards healthier lifestyle behaviors.
The visit included a youth dialogue session for a group of university students on mental health concepts and the importance of focusing on mental health during university years.
Her Majesty examined the interactive display platforms prepared by the society, which represented its programs and diverse projects in areas of mental health, proper nutrition, physical fitness, chronic diseases, family health, smoking cessation, and youth integration.
These platforms were designed in an innovative interactive style that allows students to experience health awareness concepts tangibly and directly, aiming to effect a behavioral change that embeds health awareness values into their daily lives.
The open day extends over four days to allow the largest number of students to visit the display platforms and participate in interactive activities, contributing to the embedding of a culture of health awareness in university and community settings.
The General Manager of the Royal Health Awareness Society, Amal Areifj, stated that celebrating twenty years of contribution is a milestone of pride in what has been achieved, and an opportunity to renew the commitment to supporting healthy practices and enhancing community partnerships towards a healthier and more sustainable future.
This event embodies the vision of the society in striving for a healthy life path for everyone in our community and to be a leading national platform for health behavioral change, enhancing the principles of prevention and health education through interaction, participation, and empowering new generations.
Her Majesty toured the Center of Excellence in Teaching and Learning at the university, and examined the content digitization project and the production of exemplary interactive lectures, which aim to transform traditional lectures into interactive content that enhances the learning experience.
Accompanied by the center director, Raed Al-Taher, Her Majesty visited the production lab, and in one of the classrooms, she followed part of a dental lecture presented by Dr. Aseel Al-Sharir using interactive technologies.
The University President, Nidhal Obaidat, explained during the tour that the project began preparation in September 2024 with the goal of enhancing interactive education in academic programs using modern methods that keep pace with the best global practices, which include transforming curricula into advanced interactive platforms that enhance the learning experience and improve the performance of faculty members without compromising the role of the academic professor.
In the context of this transformation, the university embarked on digitizing academic content for more than 280 bachelor's degree programs and 2700 courses and tens of thousands of educational materials.
