The Jordanian Government Announces the Start of the National Youth Survey 2025

Khaberni - The Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Sami Adwan, announced the commencement of the National Youth Survey 2025 starting tomorrow, Wednesday, in partnership with the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan, General Statistics Department, and UNICEF.

Dr. Adwan explained that the National Youth Survey aims to collect comprehensive data about the realities and priorities of Jordanian youth, and to provide a scientific reference for building and preparing the national youth strategy for the years 2026-2030. The survey results will provide a reliable database that contributes to defining the strategy's axes and the programs derived from it, representing the actual needs and future aspirations of the youth.

Dr. Adwan emphasized the importance of the survey in updating the data related to the priorities and aspirations of Jordanian youth, bridging knowledge gaps in fields lacking reliable information to serve as a reference for policy formulation, and creating platforms and dialog forums that bring together youth and policymakers, to enhance participation in the decision-making process at both local and national levels, as well as measuring the level of youth participation. The survey will assess the level of youth engagement in education, civic activities, and community initiatives, providing inputs for designing strategies aimed at enhancing youth participation in decision-making as well as evaluating the effectiveness of current policies and programs, and enabling relevant entities to identify areas for improvement or explore new opportunities for future interventions.

The survey targets youth and adolescents aged 10–30 years, and the questionnaire design takes into account the age differences within this group. A comprehensive uniform questionnaire has been designed for all categories, but the questionnaire questions are divided into three age groups (10-14 years), (15-17 years) (18-30 years). The sample size involves reaching 12,000 young men and women from all governorates of the kingdom, while the survey methodology relies on a mixed research methodology, which combines quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. In addition to field survey visits, 24 focused discussion sessions will be held in youth centers, ensuring a comprehensive and deep understanding of youth reality. A three-stage stratified cluster sampling will be used to ensure accuracy in representation, considering geographical, social, and demographic diversity. The latest statistical software will also be used in data collection and monitoring field researchers.

The survey focuses on themes of identity and awareness, self-perception, education and training, health, including wellness and mental health, entrepreneurship, social relationships, civic and political participation, technology and the digital space, media and information access, entertainment, sports, environment and climate change, volunteering and community participation, leisure time, and migration and travel abroad.

The Ministry calls on the youth and their families to cooperate with the research teams in filling out the required data during the survey process, which will continue over the next two months.
