Khaberni - The Public Prosecutor in Istanbul announced the arrest of three suspects for gathering CV data of officials in sensitive positions within the country, using numbers obtained by members of the Emirati intelligence service from a GSM company in Turkey.

In its statement, the Public Prosecutor mentioned that efforts are ongoing to expose the "military and political espionage" activities being conducted by the Istanbul Counter-Terrorism Directorate and the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) in coordination with the Public Prosecutor.

The statement read: "It was revealed that elements of the Emirati intelligence service attempted to gather personal data of individuals occupying sensitive positions, by communicating with officials from various foreign countries, and executive officials in major institutions in the defense sector that operate in our country, using fake accounts obtained from a telecommunications company in Turkey. Four individuals were identified, who, following instructions from Emirati intelligence officers, purchased a telecommunications line from a company in Turkey, provided the necessary funding for the aforementioned activities, brought this line to the UAE, and handed it over to intelligence officers, and were in communication with each other."

The reports mentioned that in the operation executed today to arrest 4 identified suspects and control the crimes and criminal elements, 3 suspects were arrested and an arrest warrant was issued for one suspect because he was abroad.
