Khaberni - Abdullah Murqah

Bakery owners stated that the High Administrative Court issued a ruling to cancel the previous decision of the Minister of Industry and Commerce related to allowing a bakery to be opened in Tabarbour, confirming that the ministerial decision was "in violation of the regulations governing the operation of bakeries and the distances that must be maintained".

They explained to Khaberni that the area where the bakery was opened (already served by four bakeries), noting that the applicable regulations require that a traditional bakery must be at least 1000 meters away from the nearest bakery, while an automated bakery must be at least 1500 meters away.

They pointed out that the bakery allowed to open (located between two existing bakeries) has a distance of only 154 meters from an automated bakery and only **230 meters from another traditional bakery, which is a clear violation of the legislation.

They mentioned that they had filed objections with the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, (however, the minister did not respond), which prompted three bakeries to file a lawsuit at the High Administrative Court and present all the legal evidence.

The court concluded by cancelling the previous minister's decision and transferring the violation to the competent authorities, while it was later revealed that there was no bakery in the al-Fuhais area mentioned in the decision.
