Khaberni - The Minister of State for Public Sector Development, Engineer Badriyah Al-Balbeisi, stated during the opening of the first workshop on the second executive program for the roadmap to update the sector from 2026 to 2029 that these workshops represent a national gathering that brings together decision-makers, experts, and leaders from both the public and private sectors.
She addressed the attendees of the workshop, which discusses the government services and procedures component and the data and emerging technologies component, by saying that their attendance is not merely participation; rather, it confirms that updating is a shared responsibility, and its success is based on the integration of knowledge, experience, and institutional work, indicating that the updating efforts are not complete without their contribution, and cannot be translated into results without open dialogue among the partners of the national system.
Al-Balbeisi pointed out that the government had launched the first executive program for the administrative updating vision in the past phase, and it achieved tangible progress at the level of the components of the updating map, which reflected in the improvement of the international indicators that were adopted to measure performance.
She talked about how the first phase of the public sector update roadmap succeeded in laying the right foundation for sustainable and measurable administrative updating.
Al-Balbeisi clarified that the workshops that started today form an important milestone in the journey of updating; for they are not just a presentation of outputs but a platform for dialogue, and for setting priorities and projects, as we face a real opportunity to enhance the efficiency of the public sector, improve services, empower institutions, and achieve the impact that citizens aspire to.
She said: Today we start a new phase of joint national work, a phase managed by impact, measured by results, and built on partnership.
The workshops at the Prime Minister's Office began today, Monday, with the participation of experts and specialists from the public and private sectors; to view and discuss the program to be announced in the upcoming period.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Prime Minister's Office, a session titled "Governance and regulatory environment component, human resources and leadership component, and institutional culture component" will be held, and the workshops will conclude the day after tomorrow, Wednesday, with a session "Policies and legislation component and spending efficiency component".
The Prime Minister's Office held seven discussion sessions to prepare for the second executive program for the roadmap to update the public sector, in addition to a series of interactive meetings with secretaries and general directors in ministries and government institutions; to discuss their recommendations and proposals to ensure the coherence of the initiatives and goals included in the second executive program of the map.
It is noted that the roadmap for updating the public sector was launched in 2022 and extends for ten years. It consists of seven components: government services and procedures, governance and regulatory environment, policies and legislation, human resources and leadership, institutional culture, data and emerging technologies, and spending efficiency, aiming to achieve an effective and enabled public sector.
