Khaberni - The Israeli army issued an order today, Monday, to seize more than 77 dunams of land belonging to the residents of the towns of Al-Za'im and Al-Issawiya east of Jerusalem.
The sources explained in a talk with the Palestinian "Wafa" agency that the targeted lands are owned by many citizens.
The seizure orders are part of the Israeli policies aimed at seizing lands around East Jerusalem.
The Governorate of Jerusalem considered the military order issued by the Israeli army, which orders the seizure of 77.608 dunams of land in the town of Al-Issawiya and its surroundings, as a serious escalation in the policies of annexation and Judaization targeting the governorate.
It was explained that the decision, issued under "Seizure Order No. 152/25," uses the pretext of "military needs," but is actually part of a strategic plan to seize more lands for the future expansion of settlements and linking them with one another at the expense of Palestinian lands, effectively implementing the E1 plan, and more broadly, the Greater Jerusalem plan.
The Governorate stated in a release issued Monday that Israel claims that 42.632 dunams of the confiscated lands are outside the scope of "government lands," while 34.976 dunams were classified as government lands, including areas from Al-Issawiya.
It confirmed that these military orders are used as a systematic tool to impose control over Palestinian lands under the guise of security, before later transforming them to serve settlement projects, including bypass roads and the expansion of settlement blocks and outposts surrounding Jerusalem.
