Khaberni - An Israeli website revealed the method and types of weapons Israel used in the operation to assassinate the Chief of Staff of Hezbollah's militia, Haitham Al-Tabtaba'i, last Sunday evening.
The website "Netziv" stated that Israel used precision bombs of the GBU-39 type in the assassination, which took place in "Haret Hreik" in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
It added that this type of ammunition is known for its light weight and accuracy in hitting the target, allowing it to strike specific targets while minimizing collateral damage.
Some versions of this type of munition contain about 16 kilograms of AFX-757 explosives, capable of penetrating up to two meters of reinforced concrete.
The bomb uses a dual inertial guidance system, in addition to a Global Positioning System (INS/GPS), with high resistance to anti-aircraft jamming, making it suitable for operations requiring high precision in a complex environment.
According to military circles in Tel Aviv, the Israeli Air Force used 6 bombs of this type in a single air sortie during the operation to assassinate Al-Tabtaba'i.
During the operation, the Israeli airstrike on Sunday targeted a residential apartment on Al-Areed Street in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
