Khaberni - The College of Information Technology at Petra University participated in the conference and exhibition on progress, innovation, and technology in cybersecurity "C8 2025". The conference was hosted under the sponsorship of His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, and was attended by the president of Petra University, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, and the Dean of the College of Information Technology, Professor Dr. Wael Hadi.
The university showcased in its booth the "Sygma" project, developed by faculty members Dr. Abdul Karim Al Banna and Dr. Muhammad Arfa. This project is a massive linguistic model tailored for the retail and banking sectors in Jordan, and it has received initial funding.
The college students presented the "Smart SIEM" project, an intelligent security system that collects logs from various sources and analyzes them using machine learning techniques and the MITRE ATT&CK framework to predict cybersecurity attacks before they occur.
Students also displayed the "NeuroSeekers" project, an innovative solution that employs functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and artificial intelligence to reconstruct images that a person is thinking about, offering a futuristic technology for applications in criminal investigations and forensic medicine.
They also introduced a non-invasive treatment for Parkinson's disease that relies on vibrational stimulation through fingertips, promising results comparable in effectiveness to Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) without the need for surgical intervention.
It is noted that the conference serves as a specialized regional platform in cybersecurity, organized by the National Cyber Security Center, the Jordanian Center for Design and Development "JODDB", and SOFEX Jordan company.
