Khaberni - The Ministry of Local Administration has invited citizens to take advantage of the financial facilities, discounts, and exemptions approved by the government, related to a full exemption of building and land tax penalties and a discount on the principal amount, in addition to discounts on verification fees, revenues, compensations, road leftovers, rentals, and their returns, for those who settle before December 31, 2025.

According to a statement from the ministry today, Monday, the decision includes granting a 20 percent discount on building and land tax (roofed) and education tax and sewage contribution fees for the current year and previous years, when settling the full dues on lands and properties within municipal and Greater Amman Municipality limits before the end of the year.

The decision includes a full exemption from penalties accrued on building and land tax (roofed) and education for previous years, if settled before December 31, 2025, to alleviate the citizens and encourage them to settle their financial affairs.

The decision also stipulates allowing the installment of building and land tax (roofed), education tax, and sewage contribution fees until the end of the year.
It also includes granting retroactive discounts to taxpayers who have settled their dues during the period from January 1, 2025, to the date of the Cabinet's decision on October 29, where a 20 percent discount will be credited to them for the 2026 tax for the same property, in addition to accounting for the promotional discount stipulated in the law.

The decision also includes increasing the promotional discount rate for 2026 to 10 percent instead of 8 percent when paying building and land tax (roofed) during the first two months of the year 2026, in support of those committed to early payment.

Regarding verification fees, revenues, compensations, and road leftovers, the decision includes granting a 25 percent discount on verification fees and revenues if paid before the end of 2025, plus a 25 percent discount on road leftovers prices, with the option of installment payment until the end of the year.
The decision also includes offering a 25 percent exemption to tenants of municipal properties and the Greater Amman Municipality on the rents owed by them when paid or installment before the end of the year.

The ministry confirmed that the decision was made with the aim of reducing financial burdens on citizens, and encouraging them to settle the obligations on their properties, thereby promoting principles of justice and social solidarity, and enabling municipalities to continue providing their services efficiently.
