Khaberni - The family of a Jordanian travel driver, who was robbed in the Mu'adamiyah area within Syrian territories on Tuesday, November 19, 2025, has appealed to the government for intervention to return his vehicle and stolen possessions.
The Jordanian citizen, Mahmoud Rabee Jamil Subh, was kidnapped in the Mu'adamiyah area within Syrian territories on Tuesday, November 19, 2025, according to his family's statement to the "Khaberni" website.
According to the family's account, a group of Syrian youths contacted Mahmoud, asking him to transport them from Harasta towards Tabuk in Saudi Arabia, taking advantage of his work in transportation and his use of a 2023 Tahoe vehicle.
Following prior coordination with the group, Mahmoud travelled from Amman to Syria, but the scheduled meeting times were postponed several times until late at night. Upon arriving at the farm location sent to him, he was surprised by four individuals who attacked and detained him, then moved him to another location within a wooded area before the kidnappers fled, leaving him restrained.
Later, the youth managed to reach a brick factory in the area to seek help, where he was transported to the Mu'adamiyah police station, which then proceeded to the farm site, where the owner reported that he had rented the place to a group of young men for limited hours without knowing what transpired there.
According to the family, the Syrian police arrested one of the individuals involved in the incident, while the search for the remaining group members is ongoing. They pointed out that the vehicle, the youth's phone, his wallet, and some personal valuables were stolen during the incident.
The young man's mother confirmed that the Mu'adamiyah police station had notified the Jordanian embassy about the incident, while her son remains in Syria to follow up on the legal procedures. The family also contacted the Al-Nasr Security Center in Amman and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and were informed that the follow-up is being handled through the Jordanian embassy in Damascus.
The family of the young man appealed through "Khaberni" to all relevant official authorities to intervene to help regain his rights and apprehend the involved individuals, and to return the vehicle and stolen possessions.
