Egypt Judicial ruling opens the doors of theaters to the movie The Atheist

Khaberni - The Administrative Judiciary Court of the Egyptian State Council ruled today, Sunday, to reject the lawsuits filed by the lawyer Mortada Mansour, which demanded to prevent the screening of the movie "The Atheist" in cinemas.

The court clarified that the film had obtained an official license from the Audiovisual Classification Authority under number 121 for the year 2023, thereby confirming the issuance of a positive administrative decision allowing the screening of the film, negating any legal justification to halt its screening.

The court also ruled not to accept one of the lawsuits due to the absence of an administrative decision, after the Ministry of Culture and the Supreme Council for Culture provided official documents proving the validity of the license.

The court's decision means cancelling any attempts to stop the screening of the film, making it available soon in Egyptian theaters.

On his part, the writer and screenwriter Ibrahim Issa, the author of the film, commented on the judgment via his account on the "X" platform, saying: "The great Egyptian judiciary rules a bright and clear judgment for the screening of the movie (The Atheist) and rejects all lawsuits to prevent the film's screening.. The word now is in the hands of the state's executive devices.. The Egyptian judiciary has announced its judgment, do not let the film wait for its fate."

It is noted that the movie "The Atheist" is written by Ibrahim Issa and directed by Mohamed Jamal Al Adl, starring Ahmed Hatem, Mahmoud Hemida, Sherine Reda, Tara Emad, and Naglaa Badr.
