Khaberni - Dr. Yelena Bykhotina, a gastroenterology specialist, reports that individuals suffering from gastritis, stomach ulcers, or gastroesophageal reflux disease should avoid consuming mandarin oranges.
The doctor warns that excessive consumption of mandarin oranges, even in healthy individuals, can cause allergic reactions, irritation of the stomach lining, and increased acidity. Therefore, it is not advisable to consume more than one to two mandarins a day.
Despite this, the doctor highlights the benefits of mandarin oranges, saying: "Mandarin oranges are a rich source of Vitamin C, organic acids, and flavonoids, which help strengthen the immune system and normalize metabolism. They also improve digestion and mood due to their aromatic oils."
