Jordan and Saudi Arabia Sign a Joint Judicial Cooperation Program

Khaberni - Justice Minister Bassam Talhouni, representing the government of the Jordanian Hashemite Kingdom, and Saudi Justice Minister Dr. Walid Al-Samaani, representing the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, signed a joint cooperation program between the two kingdoms on the sidelines of the second international justice conference held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during the period between November 23–24, 2025, within the framework of the Riyadh Arab Agreement for Judicial Cooperation, which is considered one of the most important cooperation agreements between Arab countries.

Talhouni said after the signing of the joint cooperation program that this program reflects the depth of the relations between the two brotherly countries and their keenness to enhance integration. The signed agreement constitutes an important pillar to support cooperation in the fields of exchanging judicial assistance and enforcing judgments, thereby achieving justice and enhancing the rule of law," he said.

Talhouni added that the cooperation program between the two parties aims to mutually explore the legal and judicial systems of both brotherly countries, exchange experiences and knowledge, and transfer knowledge in the legal and legislative fields, including enhancing the rule of law and using modern means to facilitate litigation procedures and improve justice services.

Talhouni pointed out that the cooperation areas in the program came through the parties' efforts to strengthen and develop bilateral cooperation and exchange legal expertise in several areas, most notably the field of exchanging information on judicial organization and modern legislation issued in the countries related to the justice sector, and the results of the conferences they organize in the legal field, and exploring best practices and experiences to achieve the goals of these programs through meetings and reciprocal visits between experts of both countries.

Talhouni added that this program will allow exploration of experiences concerning leveraging technology in the procedures and activities of courts and their affiliated departments, which contributes to serving justice, and the field of facilitating access to justice, including the knowledge and expertise related to providing legal assistance, exchanging expertise and studies, and legal information in the field of alternative means of resolving legal disputes, and providing training opportunities for legal experts, researchers, and administrative employees through involving trainees in seminars, courses, and training workshops organized by either party.
