Khaberni - Security forces opened fire on a drone to prevent it from reaching the Khor Mor gas field in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq late Sunday night, according to Reuters citing two security sources.
According to Reuters, a drone approached the Khor Mor field, one of the largest gas fields in Iraq, prompting air defenses to open fire to prevent it from reaching the site.
The two sources said it was not yet known whether the air defenses had brought down the drone.
Alarm sirens sounded in the field, and staff moved to safe areas. One of the sources mentioned that the field, located in Sulaymaniyah, was not damaged.
