Khaberni - American President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he is preparing to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a "foreign terrorist organization".
Trump told "Just the News" that it would be done "in the strongest and most robust terms. The final documents are now being prepared."
The President's announcement came a few days after "Just the News" published a lengthy investigation into the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood and the growing concerns within the Trump administration.
Last week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, designated the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as "foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations".
Republicans in the House and Senate, along with some Democrats, have called on the State Department to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in August that the designation of the Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization is "in preparation", but it's a long and meticulous process, especially given the many branches of the Brotherhood that must be separately examined.
Last Tuesday, Governor Abbott revealed that he had designated both the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations CAIR, as foreign terrorist organizations, which is something the Trump administration has yet to do.
Abbott said, "The Brotherhood and CAIR have long set their sights: to impose Sharia by force and establish 'Islamic dominance over the world'. The actions these groups have taken to support global terrorism and undermine our laws through violence, threat, and harassment are unacceptable."
He added, "Today, I have designated the Brotherhood and CAIR as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations. These extremists have no place in our state, and are now prohibited from acquiring any property in Texas."
His office announced that it has directed the Texas Department of Public Safety to "open criminal investigations" against CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood, targeting terrorist activities, violence, threats, and harassment, as well as the illegal imposition of Sharia law.
In July, Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz and others introduced a bill to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization, noting that one of the Brotherhood branches, Hamas, was linked to the October 7 massacre that killed at least 53 Americans.
Representatives Mario Diaz-Balart and Jared Moskowitz reintroduced the "Designation of the Muslim Brotherhood as a Terrorist Organization" bill for 2025, considering that the Brotherhood and its subsidiary organizations pose a threat to American national security and exploit American funds and Western systems to promote violence and instability.
