Khaberni - The Cabinet approved in its session held today, Sunday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, an amended bill for the Independent Election Commission Law for the year 2025; in preparation for its referral to the House of Representatives to proceed with the procedures of its authorization according to the constitutional norms.
The bill includes enhancing the tools for supervising the electoral process at all stages with full integrity, transparency, and impartiality, by establishing rules to enhance digital electoral promotional means.
The bill also regulates the candidacy of the employees of the Independent Election Commission in any elections that the Commission supervises or manages, in accordance with the electoral law of the House of Representatives, by preventing the exploitation of their public office, or their affiliation to any political party or organization during their tenure at the Commission; in line with the recent constitutional amendments.
