Khaberni - The Council of Ministers approved in its session held on Sunday, chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, the Jordanian strategy for digital transformation for the years 2026 – 2028 and its executive plan, as part of the public sector updating initiative.
The new strategy comes in light of the nearing end of the strategy that was developed in 2020, which expires at the end of this year. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship prepared the new strategy and the executive plan in collaboration with governmental entities and the private sector using a clear methodology and relying on data, according to best international practices, while taking into consideration the feedback provided by citizens through public consultation of the draft strategy.
The strategy is based on a future vision aimed at digitally empowering citizens, utilizing future technology and innovation to enhance economic and social development and improve the quality of services provided to citizens, through developing digital infrastructure, updating the legislative and regulatory environment, data governance, and effective partnerships and cooperation, consistent with the vision of economic modernization and the roadmap for public sector modernization.
The strategy covers key aspects including: data and advanced technologies, digital payments, cybersecurity, fifth generation and optical fibers, digital identity, government platforms, skills and human resources.
The strategy is accompanied by an executive plan consisting of 57 projects until 2028, which includes continuing the digitization of government services, digital identity, digital signing, development of the (Sanad) application, data governance, digital health, digital education, cybersecurity, intelligence and fifth generation technologies, data and green digital economy, emerging technologies, and more.
