Khaberni - The Jordan University of Science and Technology has achieved a new milestone with significant progress in the Shanghai Global Ranking for Specializations for the year 2025, consolidating its position as one of the leading regional and international universities in the fields of medicine and health. The university ranked highly globally in four major specializations, with the dental specialization being in the 151–200 global category, medical specialization in the 401–500 global category, public health specialization in the 401–500 global category, and the nursing specialization in the 201–300 global category.
The university achieved the first local position in the fields of medicine, dentistry, and public health, and it was unique among Jordanian universities in including the medical discipline in this year's Shanghai ranking, reflecting its excellence compared to national and regional academic institutions. This advanced performance embodies the escalating level of the university in scientific research, innovation, and academic output, and confirms its ability to compete globally in specializations that are among the most influential in the health sector. This achievement reflects the development of higher education in Jordan and the rising level of national universities and their ability to achieve advanced presence in global rankings.
This progress comes as a result of a leading research environment that supports high-impact research, expansion of international partnerships, availability of modern laboratories and advanced educational technology, in addition to efforts to develop postgraduate programs and enhance scientific publishing and research citations.
The university president, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, confirmed that this progress represents the fruits of integrated institutional work focused on research, development, and quality teaching. He explained that the university continues to implement its strategic plans aimed at enhancing quality scientific output and expanding partnerships with prestigious international universities, and investing in exceptional human talents. Al-Salem added that these results serve as a strong motivation to enhance the university's global presence and develop its health programs in alignment with the latest international trends, and to enrich the Jordanian and regional health sector with competencies possessing advanced skills and knowledge.
