A scene from Roses and Chocolate shocks and brings Shaimaa Jamals case back to the forefront

Khaberni - The eighth episode of the series "Roses and Chocolate" created a widespread shock among the audience, after a scene depicting the murder of the character played by the actress Zeina was filmed in a direct and realistic manner, bringing back the discussion of the murder case of the journalist Shaimaa Jamal to the forefront once again.

The episode focused on the mechanism of executing the crime by the character of the husband, played by the actor Mohamed Farag, after luring the victim under the pretext of visiting a new house, then he hits her on the back of her head with a heavy tool before strangling her and using a chemical substance to try to conceal the crime, and then burying the body in an unknown location.

Viewers interacted massively on social media platforms, pointing out the shocking similarity between the details of Zeina’s murder in the series, and the real crime committed by Shaimaa Jamal's husband, Ayman Hajjaj, and his partner Hussein El-Gharabli, which ended with the execution of the accused after exhausting all judicial procedures and the endorsement by the Mufti and the presidency on the verdict.

Social media users shared a video clip that reflected the similarity in a shocking way, where the voice performance of Shaimaa Jamal's mother narrating the details of the incident on a television program previously coincided with the chronological sequence of the dramatic scene in "Roses and Chocolate", revealing a complete match between them.

The original case began after Shaimaa disappeared in June 2022, and the location of the body's burial was determined in a remote farm, while investigations revealed premeditated murder using violence and strangulation, in addition to materials to disfigure the body, and criminal evidence directly implicated the accused.

The series "Roses and Chocolate" is written by Mohamed Raja, directed by Mando El-Adl, and produced by El Adl Group by the producer Jamal El Adl, and it features a group of artists including Zeina, Mohamed Farag, Murad Makram, Safaa El Toukhy, along with young faces such as Youssef Hashish and Aya Selim.
