Khaberni - The team from the Faculty of Science and Information Technology at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan secured second place in the 2025 National Robotics Championship, which was organized by the Arab Association for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and hosted by the Applied Science Private University. This achievement came through the winning project “Your Move,” an educational and therapeutic innovation aimed at children suffering from autism spectrum disorder and hyperactivity, combining real and virtual realities to provide an effective therapeutic and training environment that relies on advanced technologies like virtual reality and body movement tracking, thereby offering children a more interactive experience and enhancing their educational and behavioral capabilities.
The project was presented by a creative team of university students: Bashar Mohammad Mqaddem, Ahmad Khalf Tameemi, Rashed Musa Al-Khalidi, and Mazen Dimitri Qatineh, who epitomized the spirit of innovation under the direct supervision and ongoing support from the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and the department head Dr. Alaa Al-Zoubi, along with the outstanding efforts of Engineer Yazan Abdul Ghani who oversaw the technical management of the project. The championship results concluded with Princess Sumaya University for Technology securing first place, followed by Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan in second, and Applied Science Private University in third.
This accomplishment adds anew to the university’s journey in supporting creativity and innovation, and reinforces its role in empowering its students to develop technological solutions that serve the community and enhance the level of education and scientific research.
