Khaberni - The Jordanian Citrus Agricultural Cooperative Society advised citrus farmers in Jordan not to pick Clementine fruits.
It said in a publication on Facebook that information it received from Amman central market indicated that Clementine prices this morning were lower than yesterday by a percentage ranging from 25% to 50%, explaining that the reason is the large quantities of "hawash".
It firmly advised against picking Clementine fruits today and suggested reducing the harvest rate to 50% tomorrow.
It pointed out that the reason for advising against picking the fruits is to prevent farmers' produce from being sold at a low price.
It advised spraying fruit fly pesticide.
