Khaberni - The UAE announced the launch of the "Artificial Intelligence for Development" initiative valued at one billion US dollars, to support and fund artificial intelligence projects in African countries, enhancing economic and social development efforts on the continent through the development of digital infrastructure, improving governmental services, and raising productivity levels.

The initiative was announced during the speech delivered by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, at the G20 summit, where he affirmed the UAE's commitment to promoting sustainable growth through broader international partnerships and innovative financing solutions that contribute to development in developing countries.
Initiative Goals

The initiative will be implemented through the Abu Dhabi Exports Office "ADEX", which is part of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, in cooperation with the Emirates International Aid Agency, within an institutional partnership that embodies the role of the UAE in enabling developing countries to exploit advanced technologies and harness artificial intelligence capabilities for inclusive development.

The initiative aims to support developing countries in overcoming developmental challenges, by integrating artificial intelligence technologies in vital sectors such as education, agriculture, and infrastructure, which creates innovative solutions that accelerate the pace of growth and expand opportunities for sustainable development.

The initiative aligns with the vision of the United Arab Emirates to build a knowledge-based economy, thereby enhancing its status as a global leader in developing artificial intelligence technologies and utilizing them to serve communities.
