Khaberni - The Governor of Ghardaïa, in an urgent, exceptional message issued on November 19, called on various religious and social sectors to raise their vigilance in the face of the emergence of a new psychoactive substance.
The official document, which was published on social media today, Saturday, and addressed to both the Director of Religious Affairs and Endowments and the Director of Social Activities, contains precise information about the nature of this new drug.
The document confirmed that the "nerve drug" GBH is a colorless, odorless liquid that mixes easily with drinks and is exploited for raping girls, being one of the most impactful substances on the nervous system. It acts as a strong depressant leading to sexual arousal, unconsciousness, paralysis of movement, and reduced resistance capacity.
The danger of this drug increases due to its easy mixing with drinks without the victim's detection, in addition to the possibility of its use orally or intravenously.
The governor emphasized in his message the necessity of immediate awareness campaigns, especially at the mosque level, to warn against this drug.
