Khaberni - Jordanian markets began preparing for the big discount day on the last Friday of November, referred to as White Friday in the Arab and Islamic worlds and Black Friday in the Western world.
This year, White Friday finds Jordanians experiencing continuous price increases for goods, not to mention the erosion of their salaries due to taxes, fines, services, and school and university installments.
An observer of the Jordanian economic affairs downplayed the likelihood of market movement during White Friday week due to the significant weakness in purchasing power and Jordanians' focus on buying essentials in a country whose debt at the end of Bisher Al-Khasawneh's government era exceeded 43 billion Jordanian dinars, amid fears of its ongoing rise during President Jafar Hassan's era.
The observer warned against stores exploiting the White Friday season to pass off old stock they wish to clear Khaberni before the end of the year or to conduct fake promotions on goods without actual price reductions.
The average income per capita in Jordan Khaberni is about 425 Jordanian dinars, and the poverty line per individual in Jordan stands at about 168 dinars per month. Experts estimate the poverty line for a family at about 550 dinars, and the unemployment rate in Jordan reached 21.3% in the second quarter of 2025 amidst information about young Jordanians migrating abroad secretly Khaberni and openly, with the government trying to find job opportunities for them abroad.
