Khaberni - Security teams in Istanbul opened an urgent investigation after a young woman was poisoned in a cafe in the Umraniye district, where the 26-year-old victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Initial investigations revealed that the incident occurred due to a shocking human error, as industrial dish cleaner was used instead of the usual ingredients for making coffee.
It was discovered that a 52-year-old woman had filled cleaning materials into bottles similar to those used at the cafe run by her daughter.
Following the investigation, the security forces arrested the individual who prepared the coffee, a 50-year-old man, along with the 28-year-old owner of the cafe. The cafe was preemptively closed until further notice.
On the other hand, the young victim is still receiving treatment in the intensive care unit, as the cafe's surveillance cameras recorded the dramatic moments of the incident accurately, from the preparation of the coffee to the victim's onset of illness.
The Health Director of Istanbul stated that the health of the victim is showing significant improvement, noting that she has made positive steps toward recovery after being disconnected from the ventilator.
