Khaberni - Minister of Health Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badour confirmed that the health sector in Jordan operates within a unified system including the Ministry of Health, the Royal Medical Services, universities, and the private sector, aiming to provide the best medical service to citizens.
At the opening of the fifth International Bariatric Surgery Conference today, Thursday, he added that bariatric surgery is a multi-faceted specialty that intersects with other specialties, reflecting the spirit of teamwork that characterizes the Jordanian health sector. He pointed to the ministry's significant focus on scientific development and specialty procedures in various fields, which contributes to enhancing Jordan's progress and distinction in education and health sectors.
Al-Badour noted that bariatric surgery is a distinctive mark in medical tourism, affirming his support for every effort that assists in marketing Jordan.
Al-Badour called on physicians with long and distinguished experiences to pass their knowledge to the new generations, considering it a moral and religious responsibility, and to ensure continued excellence and achievement of desired goals.
He explained that the ministry established the Center for Specialized Surgeries and contracted with a group of distinguished doctors, emphasizing the necessity of continued cooperation among all sectors and specialties.
Regarding medical tourism, Al-Badour stressed that Jordan gives great attention to this sector as it is an important source of national income, urging further development and to overcome the challenges that the sector faced previously, affirming that Jordan will remain a safe and stable country offering its medical services to all.
He mentioned that Jordan has the elements of excellence in bariatric surgery and announced that starting from next week, the ministry will begin collaborating with specialized doctors to enhance the kingdom's position in this field, especially with competitive prices enabling Jordan to continue progressing against neighboring countries.
In conclusion, the Minister of Health wished success and achievement for the conference proceedings, hoping they result in positive and practical outcomes that serve the health sector.
