Khaberni - Tripartite cooperation meetings (Jordanian, Syrian, and Lebanese) will be held in Amman on Thursday to discuss cooperation in the fields of electricity and gas.
Jordan's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Syrian Minister of Energy Mohammad Al-Bashir, and Lebanese Minister of Energy Jou Sadde will review the files concerning the transfer of electricity and gas from Jordan through Syria to Lebanon.
In previous statements, Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water Joseph Sadde stated that the meeting aims to explore the possibility of reactivating the electric interconnection lines and the Arab gas pipeline.
Jordan's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al-Kharabsheh recently affirmed in a statement that Jordan is ready to supply Lebanon with a portion of its electricity needs as soon as the readiness of other relevant parties is completed.
Al-Kharabsheh indicated that the interconnection lines from Jordan's side are fully ready.
He also highlighted the royal directives to strengthen economic cooperation between the countries, especially in the field of electrical interconnection and the delivery of natural gas.
