Khaberni - Moroccan Yassine Bono, player of Al Hilal Saudi club won the Best Goalkeeper in Africa award at the Confederation of African Football "CAF" awards ceremony, which took place in the Moroccan capital Rabat, on Wednesday evening.
Bono excelled in the race for the award over his fellow countryman Munir El Kajoui, the goalkeeper for Renaissance Berkane, and South African Ronwen Williams, captain of the Mamelodi Sundowns team.
Bono shone last season, helping his national team qualify for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and advancing his team Al Hilal to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Club World Cup.
Bono was part of the all-star lineup for the tournament that took place in the summer in the United States, in the first edition held with the participation of 32 teams.
After receiving the award from Essam El-Hadary, the legendary former goalkeeper of the Egypt national team, Bono said: I am very happy, it is a fantastic award and a wonderful ceremony, and I also congratulate my competing colleagues, they also deserved this award.
