The High Commissioner More than 470000 refugees and asylum seekers in Jordan

Khaberni - Data from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Jordan showed the number of registered refugees and asylum seekers in the Kingdom as of November 1, 2025, which totaled more than 470,000 people distributed between urban areas and camps.

More than 385,960 refugees live in urban areas across various provinces, while 88,847 refugees reside inside official camps, notably Zaatari and Azraq camps.

The data showed that children constitute the largest proportion of refugees, amounting to 227,000 children, including about 116,000 males and 110,000 females.

The High Commissioner also recorded about 226,000 adults, including about 115,000 women and 111,000 men, in addition to about 22,000 elderly people.

Syrian nationals form the largest group of registered refugees with the High Commissioner in Jordan, with more than 436,000 Syrian refugees, along with other nationalities including about 24,000 Iraqis, about 8,000 Yemenis, Sudanese, and others.

The High Commissioner also noted the existence of groups with special needs, including specific medical conditions, people at risk, unaccompanied children, and elderly suffering from various difficulties.

The High Commissioner is committed to regularly updating the data and figures to assess humanitarian needs and guide support and assistance programs for the most vulnerable groups.
