Khaberni - Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam confirmed that more than 30 Captagon factories were closed within a single month, clarifying that strict security measures have been implemented at Beirut airport.
Salam said at the conclusion of the "Beirut 1" conference: "Lebanon remains a country of promising opportunities and we have started the reform journey, but there is still a long way to go and the reforms must continue, but in the absence of security and safety, we will miss the opportunity to rise."
He added: "Lebanon has returned to the Arab world and the Arab world has begun to return to Lebanon, and we hope to lift the ban on Lebanese exports, and I am confident that the Arabs will return to Lebanon."
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam confirmed that "the lifting of the Saudi ban on Lebanese exports is very close, and we will inaugurate scanner devices at Beirut Port,” indicating that “more than 30 Captagon factories were closed within one month, and strict and serious security measures were taken at Beirut airport.”
He emphasized that "there are serious and different measures at Beirut airport in the security framework and they are not yet sufficient but this journey must continue."
He also pointed out that "there is a crisis of trust between the citizen and the state, and between Lebanon, the Arab world, and the international community, and the government is working on restoring this trust," saying: "We work in a serious and different way and the participation of the Saudi delegation in the conference is an indication of the beginning of regaining trust from the kingdom in Lebanon."
