Khaberni - The Drug Enforcement Administration within the Public Security Directorate destroyed, today, Wednesday, large amounts of narcotics that were seized in (4048) different cases, ranging from trafficking, possession, and smuggling, after their sentences became final.
The quantities of narcotics destroyed included 16,000,000 pills of Captagon, 64 kg of marijuana, 24,000 narcotic pills, 506 grams of cocaine, 1370 kg of hashish, 236 grams of heroin, 7 kg of synthetic hashish, 47 kg of crystal, and 19 kg of Joker powder.
The Public Security Directorate, through the Drug Enforcement Administration, exerts specialized efforts around the clock, across all regions of the kingdom, at border crossings, and coordinates at a high level with the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, other security agencies, and the Jordanian Customs, to prevent the entry or transit of this scourge within Jordanian territories, due to the threat it poses to citizens' lives and the destruction of communities.
It is noted that the destruction process was supervised by a special committee chaired by the Assistant Director of Public Security for Operations and Training, and composed of the Director of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Director of the Forensic Laboratories and Evidence Department, and the State Security Court’s Public Prosecutor, where the destruction was carried out inside special ovens that reach up to one thousand degrees Celsius to ensure their melting and disintegration, and depleting their narcotics properties.
