To Ensure the Rights of Farmers and Consumers Standards Authority Launches Rounds on Olive Presses

Khaberni - The Standards and Metrology Institution announced that it has intensified its surveillance campaigns during the past period on olive presses in various regions of the kingdom, including 66 presses, and during which the accuracy of 108 scales used in the sales and weighing of oil and olives was examined.

The institution explained that these rounds will continue in the coming weeks to cover more presses, with the goal of ensuring their compliance with the technical standards for measuring devices.

The institution called on the press owners who wish to calibrate their scales to visit the Directorate of Metrology to conduct the necessary tests, ensuring that the devices operate according to technical requirements, to avoid any violations that may arise from incorrect readings.

It also emphasized the necessity of placing the scale on a flat surface and setting it to zero before starting the weighing process.

It requested that citizens report any doubts concerning the accuracy of scale readings, through the unified complaint number (065301243) available for calls and WhatsApp.

The institution affirmed its continued efforts to ensure the accuracy of scales in olive presses, protecting the rights of both producers and consumers alike.
