Khaberni - The Electric Distribution Company announced on Wednesday that it has managed to replace about 97% of its subscribers' meters with smart meters.
The company clarified that it has completed the replacement of all subscribers' meters in Tafilah Governorate, while the replacement rate with smart meters reached about 98% in Ma'an Governorate and the Jordan Valley area, confirming that work is ongoing to complete the project in all concession areas by the end of 2025.
The company indicated that the project of transitioning to smart meters, which is being coordinated with the Energy and Mineral Resources Regulatory Commission, will provide a broader range of quality services to subscribers, as part of a plan that the company is currently implementing.
In this context, the company revealed that it is developing a new package of electronic services that are the first of their kind in the region, with the provision of these services to subscribers starting within the next three months.
