Khaberni - South Korean actress and singer Nana was taken to the hospital after she and her mother were subjected to an armed assault inside their home in the suburbs of Seoul early Saturday morning.
The Korean police and local media reported that a man in his thirties broke into the home at six in the morning carrying a weapon, threatening Nana and her mother and demanding money.
During the confrontation, Nana's mother lost consciousness as a result of the assault, while the artist sustained injuries while trying to escape the danger, according to Yonhap news agency.
The artist’s agency "Sublime" explained that Nana and her mother managed to restrain the attacker until the police arrived, despite the severe panic and danger they faced inside the home. The agency added that the mother and daughter are currently undergoing treatment and need "complete rest". The police confirmed that the suspect has been detained on charges of aggravated robbery.
Nana — whose real name is Im Jin-ah — has not yet issued any statement or public comment about the incident, according to Metro newspaper.
Nana first emerged in 2009 as a member of the popular Korean girl group After School, before co-founding the music group Orange Caramel which continued until 2016.
In 2014, Nana turned to acting, and participated in successful works including The Good Wife in 2016, and the series Kill It and Justice in 2019, alongside her appearance in the Netflix series Glitch in 2022.
