Khaberni - The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority clarifies that the difficulty faced by users in accessing some platforms and digital services globally is due to a technical malfunction at Cloudflare, which is one of the largest providers of security and content distribution services globally and is relied upon by many websites and applications for data traffic processing.
The Authority confirms that telecommunications and internet networks are operating normally, and no faults or degradation in service quality have been recorded with local operators. The Authority also emphasizes that the widely discussed malfunction is not related to the telecommunications infrastructure nor does it affect any of its components, as it is due to an external problem in services dependent on Cloudflare.
During the global malfunction period, local services, including government websites, banking systems, and telecommunications services, continued to operate normally without any impact.
The Authority points out that this event underscores the importance of developing local and regional cloud hosting capabilities to reduce the impact of malfunctions that occur with global service providers.
The Authority reassures users that the telecommunications sector enjoys high stability and reliability, and that the incident is an external malfunction at Cloudflare and does not reflect any problem in the local networks.
