Khaberni - Zaid Al-Nawaiseh, Secretary General of the Ministry of Government Communication, mentioned on Tuesday that the second national strategy for spreading media and information literacy, which was approved by the Cabinet, aims to achieve the fundamental vision that Jordan started early on, represented in building an aware and digitally and informatively empowered society, which interacts responsibly with media and information sources.
Al-Nawaiseh pointed to the notable progress Jordan has made by its early adoption of the concept of media and information literacy over the past decade, which has earned it a "pioneering" status at the regional and regional level, according to the Kingdom.
He explained that after approving the strategy, Jordan is proceeding confidently, ensuring a common understanding of media and information literacy among citizens.
He also clarified that the strategy was designed to keep up with the fast-paced technological developments, amidst the astonishing acceleration in the field of digital communication and the emergence of many programs and applications.
Al-Nawaiseh noted that artificial intelligence has positive aspects, but at the same time, it has created a more significant challenge represented in the prevailing chaos in the digital space, where social media has taken over a large part of the traditional role of media, demonstrating that traditional media was bound by controls and a matrix of standards that govern the news.
