Khaberni - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs vehemently condemned the ongoing raids by extremists on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / the Noble Sanctuary and their provocative behaviors, the latest of which includes an attempt to desecrate it by bringing sacrifices into one of its courtyards; this act is a blatant breach of international law and international humanitarian law, and a clear violation of the sanctity of the Noble Sanctuary, emphasizing that Israel has no sovereignty over the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / the Noble Sanctuary.
The ministry's spokesperson, Fouad Al-Majali, reiterated the Kingdom's strong rejection and condemnation of the ongoing incursions and provocative actions by extremists, carried out under the protection of the Israeli occupation police, in flagrant violation of the legal and historical status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites, continuing Israel's attempts, as the occupying power, to impose new realities that aim to segment the Noble Sanctuary temporally and spatially.
Al-Majali called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, to compel Israel to stop its ongoing violations against the Islamic and Christian holy places in occupied Jerusalem, its dangerous escalation and unilateral and illegitimate actions in the occupied West Bank, to fulfill the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people including foremost the establishment of their independent state on their national territory, and to stop the crimes against them and hold the perpetrators accountable.
Al-Majali renewed the assertion that the entire area of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / the Noble Sanctuary, spanning 144 dunams, is a place dedicated solely to Muslim worship, and that the Jerusalem Waqfs and Al-Aqsa Affairs Administration, under the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, is the legal entity exclusively authorized to manage all affairs of the Noble Sanctuary and regulate entry into it.
