Petra University organizes a welcoming and enlightening meeting for dental students and honors outstanding students

Khaberni - The Faculty of Dentistry at Petra University, under the patronage of the university president, Professor Dr. Rami Abdul Rahim, organized a welcoming and enlightening meeting for the first-year students, coinciding with an honoring ceremony for the top students in the second and third years, attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Firas Alslihat, and a selection of faculty members and students.
In his speech, the president emphasized the importance of choosing the specialization of dentistry, which combines knowledge, skill, and emotional competence, noting the significant advancements the university has seen by obtaining international academic accreditations and entering prestigious global rankings such as QS and Times Higher Education. He encouraged students to invest their years of study with diligence, perseverance, and in building their scientific, practical, and humane skills.
The dean of the faculty, Professor Dr. Firas Alslihat, welcomed the new students, confirming the readiness of the faculty to operate the integrated clinical building, which includes 126 student clinics and 19 specialty clinics, in addition to five advanced laboratories, including the digital dentistry lab equipped with the latest CAD/CAM and 3D printing technologies. He also reviewed scholarship programs, academic partnerships, and efforts to develop the educational process, and mentioned the patent related to a natural toothpaste developed by the university's vice-president, Professor Dr. Miyas Al Remawi, proven effective in whitening teeth and treating sensitivity and gum inflammations.
The ceremony included speeches by the dean's assistants, Dr. Mohammad Al-Muayta and Dr. Bashar Al-Rashdan, in addition to a speech by the head of the student committee, Siyaf Al-Shoubaki, and his deputy, Ahmad Al-Nimer.
The ceremony also honored students who achieved a 4/4 GPA in the first and second years, including: Hala Nasser Eddin Mohammad Khair Al Batayikh, Dana Adib Mahmoud Matar, Jana Fares Mohammad Nejad, and Jouri Youssef Mustafa Abu Saad from the second-year level, along with Laila Anas Ziad Abu Ghanima and Jana Khader Abdullah Al-Manaseer from the first-year level. Additionally, a group of academically outstanding students was honored with support from Arab Bank and "3D Step" company.
The faculty also honored a wide group of academically outstanding students from the second and first years, in recognition of their efforts and academic excellence. The second-year honorees included: Abdullah Hashem Shaker Al-Zamrli, Lian Kamal Hassan Al-Aqdah, Abdul Sami Abdul Karim Ibrahim Al-Momani, Lamees Saleh Ata Al-Hourani, Aya Taher Mohammed Odaibat, Diaa Abdul Hafez Abdul Raouf Khatib, Hoor Yasser Taysir Al-Natsheh, Tameem Jihad Ahmad Al-Bistanji, Amani Imad Suleiman Al-Tahayneh, Ramal Raja Mohammad Al-Muhammadi, Youssef Mahmoud Youssef Al-Shuwaiki, Ghazal Alaa Hussein Attwan, Aya Khalil Mustafa Al-Ramamneh, Arwa Abdullah Abdul Hafez Suleiman, Rama Saad Eddin Ali Shahin, and Adam Zaid Basheer Al-Mughariz.
From the first-year level, honorees included: Ghina Firas Ahmad Rifat Al-Khatib, Muhannad Mohammad Tayseer Muhaisen, Zeina Mohammad Shahab Ahmad Abu Talib, Raya Mohammad Ahmad Awadat, Marah Nashat Radad Qaraqi, Sarah Omar Ibrahim Abu Arsheed, Nada Ihsan Ibrahim Al-Husani, Kinda Dawood Suleiman Jaber, Hamza Osama Yousuf Abu Rahma, Hala Mohammad Abdul Jalil Al-Kasasbeh, Saif Al-Din Omar Subhi Shan'ah, Adam Ahmad Juma Al-Arinat Al-Amro, and Hamad Amin Mohammed Jamil Hassouna.
The ceremony concluded by reaffirming the Faculty of Dentistry at Petra University's commitment to providing a sophisticated educational environment that focuses on refining students' skills and preparing them for excellence in the local, regional, and global job markets
