Khaberni - The fall of an iron piece from one of the high-altitude machinery (mobile crane) during the execution of periodic maintenance led to a severe injury to one of the workers at the Aqaba Company for Port Management and Operation, resulting in his death.
The management of Aqaba Ports Company immediately coordinated with the relevant authorities to investigate the circumstances and causes of the accident.
General Manager of Aqaba Company for Management and Operation of Ports, Mahmoud Khalifat stated in a press statement that the accident occurred at exactly eight-thirty in the morning while the mobile crane maintenance team was performing the scheduled maintenance as part of the planned maintenance program.
Khalifat explained that the iron piece fell from the machinery at a height of 25 meters directly onto the maintenance technician, leading to his death.
Khalifat noted that response measures were taken according to the protocols set by the general safety unit and the relevant authorities were notified accordingly.
