Khaberni - Professor Hossam Rahal, President of the Jordanian Association of Certified Public Accountants (JACPA), and Professor Hatem al-Qawasmi, the Executive Partner for (KPMG) in Jordan and the former president of the Association, delivered a specialized workshop attended by more than 200 students from the Accounting Department at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan. The workshop was organized following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the university and the association, aiming to enhance cooperation in the areas of training, professional education, and supporting students to obtain professional certificates and qualify them to enter the job market efficiently.
During the workshop, the guests discussed a range of important topics, the most prominent being the role of the Jordanian Association of Certified Public Accountants in regulating the profession in Jordan and ways to support students in obtaining necessary professional certificates, in addition to reviewing the importance of the Jordanian Certified Public Accountant (JCPA) and the Global Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certifications and their role in opening local and international job opportunities. They also presented a detailed display of the most important global professional certifications available to accounting graduates, ways to obtain them, and the advantages they offer in the current and future job market, along with discussing the skills and competencies required for graduates and the necessity to develop curricular plans to meet the needs of the changing job market.
The guests also shared their professional experiences and provided practical advice to the students about the academic and professional qualification requirements, amidst significant interaction from the students and faculty members, as the workshop lasted for more than three hours including a discussion session and extended questioning. This workshop represented a unique opportunity to acquaint students with professional certifications and future career paths, and to enhance their connection with active professional institutions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Dr. Abdul Razzak Ash-shahadah, Dean of the Business College, thanked the honorable guests for their contributions during the workshop and for signing the memorandum of understanding, emphasizing the importance of students benefiting from the training programs that the association will provide to equip them with practical skills and competencies qualified for the job market, urging them to set clear goals to obtain the professional certificates that are a key to current and future job opportunities.
