The army is a factory of men and military service is an ambitious investment in the energies of youth and building the future of the nation.
The Jordanian House of Representatives approved, by majority, a revised bill for the Military and Reserve Service Law for the year 2025, as submitted by the government.
This took place during a legislative session held today, Monday the 17th of November, 2025
This was in response to the announcement by His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, in August 2025, about reactivating the military service program.
In light of the social and economic challenges faced by Jordanian youth, the decision to reactivate military service comes as a strategic initiative reflecting the Crown Prince's dedication to empowering the young generation and enhancing their participation in serving the nation, and developing a sense of citizenship and belonging in them
Military service is not just traditional military conscription, but rather an ambitious pioneering idea and a national developmental project aimed at building the Jordanian youth's personality and honing their talents and abilities from various psychological, physical, moral, and skill aspects. It is an opportunity to reinforce national values and enhance the concepts of discipline and responsibility, which are necessary traits in an era of fast-paced challenges and opportunities.
Military service is a great honor for all the nation's youth, in addition to enhancing personal discipline through responsibility, punctuality, respect for laws, and developing leadership skills and teamwork. It also involves the development of practical and professional skills among youth, especially since military service includes training programs in various technical and professional fields, enhancing the youth’s readiness for the job market.
Undoubtedly, fostering a sense of belonging and loyalty to the nation and its leaders comes through engaging in community service activities that enhance the sense of national responsibility.
Additionally, military service will help reduce the unemployment gap by providing trainees with real opportunities for qualification and employment, and it will supply state institutions with trained and disciplined talents, thereby contributing to improving public performance efficiency and boosting productivity. This is achieved through systematic and well-thought-out partnerships between the public and private sectors.
It also enhances the national fabric and social cohesion by gathering youth from various provinces and environments in a single setting that fosters the concepts of national unity and unites them under a sacred goal, the service of the nation.
Military service also plays a significant role in reducing negative behaviors such as dependency, reluctance to work, and drifting towards extremist ideas.
Military service is a national investment in the energy of youth and a fundamental pillar for building a strong and balanced society. And it is not only a noble national service, but also a gateway to new opportunities and a qualitative shift in the path of economic and national development, contributing to preparing a generation that believes in its homeland, armed with skills and values, capable of contributing to the renaissance of modern Jordan.
With all gratitude and reverence, we raise the highest expressions of thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, may God protect them and care for them, for this historic step that restores to Jordan a sense of belonging and enhances its national identity.
This wise decision to reactivate military service is not just a training program, but a profound royal vision of investing in the Jordanian human being and a school for making men and enhancing values, bridging education and the job market, and a platform for unleashing the latent energies of youth, providing a safe environment for the upbringing and youth
The victorious Hashemite leadership, as we have always known, takes successful steps in the right direction to build a stronger, more secure, and more prosperous Jordan.
Long live Jordan, free and noble, with its great people and wise Hashemite leadership.
