Khaberni - Today, Tkiyet Um Ali and Dar Abu Abdullah launched the “Sustainability – Developmental Ongoing Charity” program, a national program aiming to empower the most vulnerable Jordanian families through establishing sustainable production projects that enhance self-reliance and provide continuous income. The announcement was made during an official event held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Haya bint Hussein, represented by Her Royal Highness Princess Taghrid Muhammad, with the presence of representatives from ministries, embassies, international agencies, and partners from public and private sectors.
The sustainability program, which was launched during the event, focuses on directing the shares of ongoing charity—valued at 50 dinars per share—to fund capital production projects in areas of smart aqua-farming, sewing, and home production, without deducting any administrative expenses, ensuring full impact reaches the beneficiaries. The current investment size is 3 million dinars while the program aims to reach 10 million dinars over five years, with an expected social return of 4.5 dinars for each dinar during the implementation period, doubling to 6.8 dinars over ten years.
The event included an interactive tour of the exhibition of Dar Abu Abdullah's project products, in addition to a panel discussion with the Grand Mufti of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Ahmad Al-Hassanat, Mr. Ahmad Awad, director of the Phoenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies, and Mr. Samer Balqar, the general manager of Tkiyet Um Ali and Dar Abu Abdullah.
During the session, they highlighted the Islamic, economic, and developmental dimensions of developmental ongoing charity, where His Eminence Dr. Ahmad Al-Hassanat reviewed the Islamic foundations of this concept and the importance of directing generosity towards projects that ensure the extension of its impact. Mr. Samer Balqar provided clarification on the program's methodology and philosophy based on empowerment through sustainable production projects. Mr. Ahmad Awad discussed the economic and social impact of the program, the importance of shifting from relief to production, and the role of aqua-farming, sewing, and home production in empowering women and youth and enhancing food security.
In this context, Mr. Samer Balqar, the general manager of Tkiyet Um Ali and Dar Abu Abdullah said:
"The Sustainability program is not just a development project but is a new national model for transforming ongoing charity into an economic force that creates lasting impact in the lives of families. We provide beneficiaries the opportunity to become producers and capable of managing their projects themselves, and in return, the donor is granted a sustainable, uninterrupted impact."
The program is expected to improve income levels for benefiting families, enhance the participation of women and youth in the local economy, and support food security through the expansion in climate-smart agriculture systems, to form a national model expandable in the field of developmental ongoing charity.
