The Middle East Celebrates World Philosophy Day

Khaberni - The College of Media at Middle Eastern University organized a special event on the occasion of World Philosophy Day, titled: "Youth and Philosophy; the Journey of Searching for Meaning and Awareness," in partnership with the Jordanian Philosophical Society, within an initiative that aligns with the university's goals of improving education and fostering critical thinking, equipping students with philosophical tools that enable them to analyze complex issues and enhance their self and community awareness.

In turn, Dr. Ramez Abu Hasira, Dean of the College of Media, emphasized that celebrating World Philosophy Day reflects the college's commitment to embedding critical thinking in students, explaining that integrating philosophy into media curricula contributes to preparing a generation capable of analyzing issues with awareness.

Dr. Lina Al-Jazrawi, President of the Jordanian Philosophical Society, delivered an engaging interactive lecture centered around basic philosophical concepts such as ethics, freedom, and happiness, emphasizing the importance of embracing philosophy as a method of thinking in various fields of life.

At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Sabah Al-Harahsheh, Head of the Department of Journalism and Media, stressed that incorporating philosophical thinking into media studies represents a fundamental pillar for responsible media capable of distinguishing between truth and misinformation, affirming that this approach enhances students' awareness and their ability to understand the underlying dynamics of events.
