Khaberni - "NR Sports," owned by the father of Brazilian star Neymar da Silva, a player of Santos, has acquired the trademark of the late Brazilian football legend Pele.
Brazilian website "UOL" reported that the official announcement of the deal is expected on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, a date that coincides with Pele's 1000th career goal milestone.
According to the same site, the value of the deal reached 95 million Brazilian Reals, which is equivalent to 18 million USD, although this figure has not been officially confirmed.
Negotiations between Neymar's father's company and "Sport 10 USA," the previous owner of the rights, went smoothly, especially since Pele's trademark had been limitedly exploited since his death on December 29, 2022, as the former company’s strategy relied on his personal appearance at events.
The current strategy with Neymar's trademark, specifically since his return to Santos, has originally been associated with Pele, as he began to be referred to in the media as "the Prince," in reference to the "King" title given to the club's greater legend.
"NR Sports" renovated a box that Pele used to use at the Vila Belmiro stadium, which his family now uses. The renovation included changing all the seats, building a new bathroom, installing a glass facade, and adding an air conditioning system, with Neymar's father's company covering all the costs.
The trademark includes the use of Pele’s image and name, licensing of products, historical archives, and other properties.
