Khaberni - British airlines began operating flights after Blue Islands Airline, a British company, abruptly announced their complete shutdown, making it the second airline to stop operations in a few weeks.

Blue Islands confirmed on Friday the suspension of its operations and the cancellation of all its future flights to destinations including Jersey, Guernsey, Exeter, Bristol, and Southampton.
Airlines "Origin" and "Loganair" intervened to offer "rescue flights" for passengers affected by the shutdown, with "Origin" starting its first flight yesterday, Saturday, according to the "BBC" website.

It was mentioned that two Loganair aircraft are scheduled to arrive in Jersey to start alternative flights.

Blue Islands Airline, which employs about 100 staff, has been servicing various destinations across the British Islands and beyond for two decades.

The operating company, based in Jersey, announced on Friday that it had stopped trading and canceled all bookings after operating a fleet of 5 aircraft.

The collapse of Blue Islands represents the second such incident for a regional airline in less than 3 weeks, following the shutdown of Eastern Airways operations on October 28th.
