Khaberni - Lionel Messi left Barcelona in the summer of 2021 after failing to reach an agreement to extend his contract with the Catalan club, following the financial crisis that left "the Blaugrana" in debt of approximately 1.92 billion euros.
The Argentinian star then landed in Paris with the capital's PSG team, and later moved to Inter Miami in the US for a new experience away from the European pitches.
However, after his last secretive visit to Camp Nou, talk resumed about Messi playing again in a "Blaugrana" jersey, especially since "the Flea" is on a break due to the stoppage of the American league.
Lionel Messi hinted that he wants to play a farewell match at Camp Nou, a stadium that witnessed his victories and legendary championships, as a "final dance", after leaving Barcelona without bidding farewell to the fans due to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 virus at the time.
Spanish journalist Luis Carrasco, an advisor to Barcelona president Joan Laporta, revealed that Lionel Messi’s return to his former team could generate an income estimated at more than 300 million euros.
Carrasco told "Rac1" radio: "Messi's jersey is the highest-selling in the world to date, and an attractive target for sponsorship companies, and his return will certainly generate profits for Barcelona’s coffers ranging between 200 and 300 million euros."
For his part, the president of the Catalan club, Joan Laporta, welcomed the idea of a tribute match for the legend "Leo", who won the Best Player in the World award 8 times, on the turf of Spotify Camp Nou, which is scheduled to officially open next month.
Messi spent 17 years at Barca, playing 778 matches, scoring 672 goals and providing 303 assists, and won 35 championships with them.
